"Finally, a doctor that cares. I had such back pain that I could barely get out of bed. I saw three back surgeons. The other two said my back was in too bad fix. Dr. Cahill was the only one that made an effort to identify the source of the pain. He located the problem and performed a surgery to correct it. I can now walk again without pain. "Had my back surgery just over 3 weeks ago. Dr Cahill performed an L4 / L5 decompression and fusion. Needless to say the surgery was a success as was my follow up visit. All my questions were addressed by Dr Cahill and the incision is healing nicely. This guy is fantastic and we are very lucky to have such a gifted neurosurgeon in our area. I traveled from Murrells Inlet, SC and well worth the trip. His staff is excellent as well."

"I can’t say enough about Dr Cahill. I have been struggling with lower back pain for well over a year. On 1/29/21 he performed an “A lift” on my L5-S1 that basically fused me front and back. I’m now 2 months out and feel fantastic. The only pain I have is incision pain where they went in through my abs which gets better every day. The incision on my back no longer hurts. I am amazed every day at how good I feel.
I like most was very apprehensive about getting back surgery. Most of my fear came from the disaster of a back surgery that my father got in Wilmington, NC. One year after his back surgery he was 4” shorter and using a walker. The “surgeon” ruined his life. Dr Cahill understood why I was apprehensive and met with me as many times as it took to answer all of the questions that I had. Very patient and understanding.
Also, Dr Cahill is different than most surgeons I have met in that he views surgery as a last option. He and his staff assisted me thru pain management, physical therapy, and other options, until surgery was the only solution. Very rare these days. He even shows that same approach to my wife’s neck problems as we are dealing with that now.
You will not be disappointed in Dr. Kevin Cahill. If I have to go down this road again for other parts of my spine, he is my only option. The only problem I have is pacing myself and not doing too much too early because I feel that good. Thank you Dr. Cahill and Coastal Spine Institute for improving my life so greatly."
